Rodman Ride for Kids - My Third Year

Dear bloggerss, friends and family,

On Saturday, September 27th, I’ll be riding my bike in the Rodman Ride for Kids, to support the Family Nurturing Center. FNC is a “small but mighty” Boston-based non-profit that provides comprehensive support to grow strong children and healthy families and to prevent child abuse. Please consider making a contribution to sponsor me on behalf this great organization! Our team’s goal is to raise $35,000.00. Please help Team FNC!

The reason I’m riding on September 27th is because I believe that all of Boston’s children deserve to grow up in nurturing families. I don’t want to read any more tragic statistics about abuse in the newspaper. I want to do my part to help kids and families succeed, instead.

Participation in the Ride for Kids comes at no cost to the organization or the donor. 100% of your donation will go directly to the Family Nurturing Center. And on top of that, the Ride for Kids expects to add another 15% to whatever amount FNC raises in direct sponsorships. That means that for every $100 that you and my other sponsors donate, FNC will receive $115 to spend on programs that nurture healthy children and strong families!

Family Nurturing Center works with others to build nurturing communities where children are cherished, families are supported, and healthy human development is promoted by all. FNC provides comprehensive, skill-building family support programs to improve the parent/caregiver and child relationship and connect families to each other, to their community, and to resources. FNC is well-known for its evidence-based Nurturing Parenting Programs as well as its neighborhood-based Circles of Caring programs: Welcome Baby, Parent-Child Playgroups, Nurturing Circles Parent Support Groups, Family Literacy activities, and Parent Leadership Training. FNC also provides training and technical assistance to others to spread Nurturing Programs across Massachusetts and Circles of Caring programs throughout Boston neighborhoods. Thank you for supporting us in this year's Ride for Kids! The Rodman Ride For Kids is an umbrella matching gift charity that raises funds for child-related social service agencies in Massachusetts and serves as a catalyst by providing child welfare agencies an opportunity to raise funds through this event. The Ride For Kids and its 25 benefiting agencies fundraise year-round, culminating with the Ride event, when 1,200 cyclists participate in a 25, 50, or 100-mile non-competitive cycling tour on Saturday, September 27, 2008. 100% of the expenses associated with the Ride are underwritten. Since its inception in 1991, the Ride For Kids has raised over $31 million to help at-risk children in Massachusetts.

By sponsoring me in the Ride for Kids, you will make a real difference in ensuring that FNC’s important work can continue. I hope you’ll join in this year, by sponsoring me at whatever level feels comfortable to you.

My personal goal is to raise a minimum of $1,000.00.
The easiest way to sponsor me and support FNC is to go online to: http://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=280554&supId=187993951

Thank you in advance for your support!

Little Tiger - Birthday No. 5

Children are so special...
This little man is my oldest Godson.
I don't get to see him often, because we live many States apart. So every year, I make it a point to be there for his birthday.....

Love you sweetie!

There is nothing more special than a mother's love.

Officer Almeyda - Congratulations

Summer Vacation - A Peek Into My Life

Summers in Bean Town can go by so fast. This year, I took my vacation time and didn't go anywhere. I actually stayed right here and did all of my sight seeing at home. LOL

I had guests visiting from out of town which made it even more rewarding. I was able to take them all around Boston - along with taking pictures of the streets an things that I normally just admire and don't have time to capture on a regular day.
